Description: The initial value used to initialize the txFast variable which determines the number of transmissions that are made in fast transmission mode. The default value for lldpV2TxFastInit object is 4. The value of this object is restored from non-volatile storage after a re-initialization of the management system.

What is lldpV2TxFastInit?

This object sets the initial value of the txFast counter, which determines how many transmissions the LLDP agent makes while in fast transmission mode, defaulting to 4 per 802.1AB-2009. Admins adjust this to control how many rapid LLDP updates get sent immediately after a new neighbor is detected before the agent reverts to its normal, slower transmit interval. For example, a value of 4 means four LLDP frames are sent quickly in succession right after a new neighbor shows up on a port.
