lldpV2MessageFastTx

Module: ZXR10-LLDP-MIB

OID (symbolic): ZXR10-LLDP-MIB::lldpV2MessageFastTx

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.3902.3.6000.504.1.1

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Unsigned32

Access: read-write

Description: The interval at which LLDP frames are transmitted on behalf of this LLDP agent during fast transmission period (e.g. when a new neighbor is detected). The default value for lldpV2MessageFastTx object is 1 second. The value of this object is restored from non-volatile storage after a re-initialization of the management system.

What is lldpV2MessageFastTx?

This value sets the interval, in seconds, at which the LLDP agent transmits LLDP frames during its fast transmission period, such as right after a new neighbor is detected, with a default of 1 second per the 802.1AB-2009 reference. Admins tune this when they want neighbor topology information to converge faster after a link change, at the cost of more frequent LLDP traffic during that burst. For example, a value of 1 means the switch sends an LLDP frame every second on a port while fast-transmission mode is active following a new neighbor discovery.
