lldpGlbAdminStatus

Module: ZXR10-LLDP-MIB

OID (symbolic): ZXR10-LLDP-MIB::lldpGlbAdminStatus

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.3902.3.6000.504.1.5

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: The administratively desired status of the local LLDP agent.

If the associated lldpGlbAdminStatus object has a value of 'txOnly(1)', then LLDP agent can transmit LLDP frames on all ports and it will not store any information about the remote systems connected.

If the associated lldpGlbAdminStatus object has a value of 'rxOnly(2)', then the LLDP agent can receive, but it will not transmit LLDP frames on all ports.

If the associated lldpGlbAdminStatus object has a value of 'txAndRx(3)', then the LLDP agent can transmit and receive LLDP frames on all ports.

If the associated lldpGlbAdminStatus object has a value of 'disabled(4)', then LLDP agent will not transmit or receive LLDP frames on all ports. If there is remote systems information which is received and stored, before lldpGlbAdminStatus becomes disabled, then the information will naturally age out.

What is lldpGlbAdminStatus?

This object sets the global administrative mode of the local LLDP agent, choosing between txOnly, rxOnly, txAndRx, or fully disabled operation across all ports. Admins use this to control whether the device advertises itself via LLDP, listens for neighbor advertisements, both, or neither, which affects whether neighbor discovery (used by tools like topology maps and cabling verification) works at all. For example, setting this to disabled(4) stops the switch from transmitting or receiving LLDP frames on any port, and any previously learned neighbor information will age out over time.
