zhonePrimaryClockSource

Module: ZHONE-SYSTEM-MIB

OID (symbolic): ZHONE-SYSTEM-MIB::zhonePrimaryClockSource

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.5504.3.1.5.8

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: InterfaceIndexOrZero

Access: read-write

Description: The ifIndex of the interface from which clock can be derived. Only oc3, ds1, and ds3 interfaces can be used for this.

This interface will be used to drive the 8khz backplane signal.

The interface must be set to loop or local timing in order for it to be considered as the primary clock source. It must also be administratively turned on and be in an operational state.

Only one interface in the system can be the primary clock source at any given time.

NOTE: This value has been deprecated and should not be used. If specified, the system will use this interface as the clock source and will ignore the provisioning specified in the zhoneSystemClockTable.

What is zhonePrimaryClockSource?

Identifies, by ifIndex, a specific OC3/DS1/DS3 interface that should drive the system's 8kHz backplane timing signal; only one interface can hold this role system-wide, and it must be set to loop or local timing and be administratively and operationally up. This object is deprecated: if it is set, the system uses this interface and ignores the newer zhoneSystemClockTable provisioning entirely, so an admin migrating to the clock table should first confirm this legacy value is cleared back to its default of 0.

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.5504.3.1.5.8
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> ZHONE-SYSTEM-MIB::zhonePrimaryClockSource

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.5504.3.1.5.8.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> ZHONE-SYSTEM-MIB::zhonePrimaryClockSource.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.5504.3.1.5.8.1 s <value>
