sonetClockTransmitSource
Module: ZHONE-PHY-SONET-MIB
OID (symbolic): ZHONE-PHY-SONET-MIB::sonetClockTransmitSource
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.5504.5.9.1.1.2
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: INTEGER
Access: read-write
Description: This variable describes the SONET transmit clock source. Valid values are:
loopTiming - transmit clock synthesized from the recovered receive clock. throughTiming - transmit clock is derived from the recovered receive clock of another SONET interface. localTiming - transmit clock synthesized from a local clock source or that an external clock is attached to the box containing the interface. external155MHz - transmit clock synthesized from an external 155.52 MHz source.
The default value is 'loopTiming'.
'external155MHz' option is not valid for Sechtor 100.
What is sonetClockTransmitSource?
This object selects the SONET transmit clock source: loopTiming(1, the default, synthesized from the recovered receive clock), throughTiming(2, derived from another SONET interface's recovered clock), localTiming(3, from a local or externally attached clock), or external155MHz(4, from an external 155.52 MHz reference, not valid on Sechtor 100). Admins choose loopTiming for a simple line-timed interface, or localTiming/external155MHz when the device needs to be the master timing source for the network. Setting this to localTiming(3) makes the interface transmit using the box's local clock source instead of deriving timing from the received signal.
