This object associates a managed service with one or more software running processes in the Host Resources MIB by storing the hrSWRunIndex of the first associated process. It enables cross-referencing between high-level services and the underlying operating system processes that implement them. A service or device administrator would use this to trace a business-critical service back to its underlying processes for dependency analysis, performance troubleshooting, or impact assessment during software updates.
