xsysEventsAsTraps

Module: XEDIA-SYSTEM-MIB

OID (symbolic): XEDIA-SYSTEM-MIB::xsysEventsAsTraps

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.838.3.1.1.4.9

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: TruthValue

Access: read-write

Description: This object is used to control whether Xedia system events are sent as SNMP traps. Generally, it is not appropriate to send all events as traps since this would consume a fairly large amount of network bandwidth. However, in the case where the events may be useful for debugging purposes, this object can be changed to 'true(1)'.

What is xsysEventsAsTraps?

When set true, every logged system event is also sent as an SNMP trap; leave it false in normal operation since forwarding all events as traps can consume significant bandwidth, and enable it only for active debugging.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.838.3.1.1.4.9
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> XEDIA-SYSTEM-MIB::xsysEventsAsTraps

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.838.3.1.1.4.9.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> XEDIA-SYSTEM-MIB::xsysEventsAsTraps.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.838.3.1.1.4.9.1 s <value>
