Description: The method used to inform other routers about routes.
What is xrip2IfConfSlowConvergenceTechnique?
xrip2IfConfSlowConvergenceTechnique selects, per RIP interface, which loop-prevention technique the router uses when informing neighbors about routes: none, splitHorizon, or poisonReverse. Admins configure this to control how the interface avoids routing loops and count-to-infinity problems inherent to distance-vector protocols like RIP. For example, leaving this at its default poisonReverse causes the interface to advertise routes learned from a neighbor back to that neighbor with a metric of infinity, explicitly marking them unreachable rather than simply omitting them.
Examples
Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.838.3.5.1.10.1.1 snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> XEDIA-RIP-MIB::xrip2IfConfSlowConvergenceTechnique
Get a specific instance (index 1):
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.838.3.5.1.10.1.1.1 snmpget -v2c -c public <target> XEDIA-RIP-MIB::xrip2IfConfSlowConvergenceTechnique.1
Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):
snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.838.3.5.1.10.1.1.1 i <value>
