Description: The administrative status of IP Backup for the bridge. It is the desired state of IP Backup for the bridge. The value 'enabled(1)' indicates that the IP Backup process should be active in the router, while 'disabled(2)' indicates that IP Backup should not be active for the bridge. The bridge will not forward frames if this value is enabled unless it has achieved the master state through the IP Backup protocol.
What is xipbackupBridgeAdminStatus?
This value sets the desired administrative state of IP Backup specifically for the bridge function, enabled(1) or disabled(2) (default disabled), and per the source description, when enabled the bridge will not forward frames unless it has achieved master state through the IP Backup protocol. A network administrator enables this on a bridged redundant pair to ensure only the currently-active (master) unit actually forwards frames, avoiding duplicate forwarding by a backup unit. For example, enabling xipbackupBridgeAdminStatus on a backup unit that hasn't yet become master would keep that unit from forwarding bridge traffic until it wins the VRRP-style election.
