What Is XEDIA-DVMRP-MIB?
XEDIA-DVMRP-MIB is a Xedia Corporation extension MIB for managing DVMRP (Distance Vector Multicast Routing Protocol) on Xedia routers, supplementing the standard DVMRP-MIB with vendor-specific interface objects. It defines an interface table (xdvmrpInterfaceTable/Entry) keyed by ifIndex reporting each DVMRP-enabled interface's protocol state (xdvmrpInterfaceState), whether it's advertising a default route (xdvmrpInterfaceDefaultInformation), and whether it's operating as a unicast tunnel (xdvmrpInterfaceUnicastTunnel) for multicast traffic across non-multicast-capable segments. Monitoring Examples
An administrator would poll xdvmrpInterfaceState for each interface in xdvmrpInterfaceTable to confirm DVMRP is up and forwarding on expected links, and check xdvmrpInterfaceUnicastTunnel to verify a multicast tunnel is correctly established across a non-multicast segment. If multicast traffic isn't reaching a downstream network, xdvmrpInterfaceDefaultInformation reveals whether the interface is advertising the expected default route, a common cause of asymmetric multicast routing. These vendor extension objects would be polled alongside the standard DVMRP-MIB's neighbor and route-table objects for full visibility.
