What is dialBackupStatus?
This value enables or disables the dial-backup feature for a given interface's configuration entry, using enabled(1) or disabled(2), defaulting to disabled(2) per the source's DEFVAL; the DESCRIPTION field itself is left empty in the source. A network administrator sets this to enabled(1) on a WAN interface they want protected by an automatic dial-up failover connection. For example, setting dialBackupStatus to enabled(1) on the entry for a primary leased line activates the dial-backup mechanism, so if that line fails the configured failover/failback timers govern switching to and from a backup dial connection.
