wfPppCircuitLELtsSecret

Module: Wellfleet-WEP-MIB

OID (symbolic): Wellfleet-WEP-MIB::wfPppCircuitLELtsSecret

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.18.3.4.28.5.1.5

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: OCTET STRING

Access: read-only

Description: Long-term shared secret, used to generate a series of key encryption keys for use during the connection. This value contained in the MIB is itself encrypted under the router's Node Protection Key, and includes a cryptographic MAC to verify successful decryption.

What is wfPppCircuitLELtsSecret?

This is the long-term shared secret used to derive the series of key-encryption keys for this PPP circuit's connection; like its Frame Relay counterpart, the stored value is itself encrypted under the router's Node Protection Key and includes a cryptographic MAC to verify successful decryption. Admins provision this as part of setting up link encryption on a PPP circuit, relying on the router's own protection to keep the secret safe.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.18.3.4.28.5.1.5
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> Wellfleet-WEP-MIB::wfPppCircuitLELtsSecret

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.18.3.4.28.5.1.5.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> Wellfleet-WEP-MIB::wfPppCircuitLELtsSecret.1

SNMPv3 example:

snmpget -v3 -l authPriv -u snmpv3-user -a SHA -A "AuthPassword1" -x AES -X "PrivPassword1" <target> wfPppCircuitLELtsSecret.1
