This read-write value (0-15) sets the RIP metric applied to routes advertised by this export filter, valid only for the propagate action; zero means use the route's actual cost. An admin sets a specific metric here to make routes exported via this rule appear more or less preferable to RIP neighbors than their native cost would suggest.
