wfOspfAreaRangeStatus

Module: Wellfleet-OSPF-MIB

OID (symbolic): Wellfleet-OSPF-MIB::wfOspfAreaRangeStatus

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.18.3.5.3.2.3.4.1.7

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: 'Set to either Advertise or DoNotAdvertise. Routing information is condensed at area boundaries. External to the area, at most a single route is advertised for each address range. The route is advertised if and only if the addre range's Status is set to Advertise. Unadvertised ranges allow the existence of certain networks to be intentionally hidden from other areas. Status is set to Advertise by default.' REFERENCE 'OSPF Version 2, Appendix C.2'

What is wfOspfAreaRangeStatus?

Controls whether this summarized address range is advertised out of the area (advertise(1), the default) or deliberately suppressed (block(2)) at the area boundary. Admins use block to intentionally hide certain internal networks from other areas, for example to keep lab or management subnets from being reachable outside their home area.
