wfIpv6NetToMediaInvalid

Module: Wellfleet-IPV6-MIB

OID (symbolic): Wellfleet-IPV6-MIB::wfIpv6NetToMediaInvalid

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.18.3.5.3.16.1.1.9.1.5

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: Setting this object to the value invalid(2) has the effect of invalidating the corresponding entry in the wfIpv6NetToMediaTable. That is, it effectively disassociates the interface identified with said entry from the mapping identified with said entry. It is an implementation-specific matter as to whether the agent removes an invalidated entry from the table. Accordingly, management stations must be prepared to receive tabular information from agents that corresponds to entries not currently in use. Proper interpretation of such entries requires examination of the relevant wfIpv6NetToMediaInvalid object.

What is wfIpv6NetToMediaInvalid?

Setting this to invalid(2) invalidates the corresponding neighbor-cache entry, effectively disassociating the interface from that mapping; whether the agent actually removes the row from the table afterward is implementation-specific, so a management station should always check this field rather than assume a stale-looking row is gone.

Examples

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> Wellfleet-IPV6-MIB::wfIpv6NetToMediaInvalid

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.18.3.5.3.16.1.1.9.1.5.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> Wellfleet-IPV6-MIB::wfIpv6NetToMediaInvalid.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.18.3.5.3.16.1.1.9.1.5.1 i <value>
