wlsxPseSlotPoEManagementMode

Module: WLSX-POE-MIB

OID (symbolic): WLSX-POE-MIB::wlsxPseSlotPoEManagementMode

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.14823.2.2.1.18.1.2.1.5

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-only

Description: This object indicates the PSE management mode.

A value of dynamic(1) indicates that it is dynamic power management.

A value of static(2) indicates that it is static power management.

A value of class(3) indicates that it is a Class based power management.

What is wlsxPseSlotPoEManagementMode?

This value reports how the PSE on this slot manages power allocation across its ports: dynamic(1) adjusts allocation based on actual measured consumption, static(2) reserves each port's full configured maximum regardless of actual draw, and class(3) allocates based on the PD's IEEE power classification. An admin chooses or checks this mode to balance maximizing the number of powered devices against guaranteeing power availability. For example, dynamic(1) mode lets more low-draw devices share a slot's power budget than static(2) mode would allow, since static reserves full worst-case power per port.
