What Is WISI-TANGRAM-MIB?
WISI-TANGRAM-MIB is the base module for WISI Communications' Tangram headend platform, used in cable/broadcast television signal processing (headend equipment for TV signal reception, transcoding, and distribution). It belongs to the broadcast/cable headend technology area. It establishes shared generic objects and notification/trap definitions used across the Tangram product's per-module MIBs, covering signal processing configuration and alarm/fault reporting. It is explicitly oriented toward monitoring hardware and software status through its generic notification framework, which headend modules use to raise alarms for signal loss, hardware faults, or configuration problems, complementing the generic object placeholders used for module-specific status reporting. In practice, WISI-TANGRAM-MIB SNMP monitoring centers on trap subscription rather than periodic polling, since the module's generic notification framework is built to push alarms as soon as a headend fault occurs. It depends on and is extended by the various per-card/per-function Tangram MIB modules that build on these generic OIDs. It is deployed in cable TV and broadcast headend facilities running WISI Tangram signal processing equipment.

Monitoring Examples
An operator would subscribe to gtGenericNotifications to receive alarms raised by Tangram headend modules — for example a signal-loss or hardware-fault trap carried via gtGenericObjectUsertrap — and would poll entries under gtGenericObjects to read the current status value referenced by that trap for the affected module. Because WISI-TANGRAM-MIB defines only the generic/base framework, specific per-module status values, such as a particular tuner or transcoder card's health, are populated by the per-function Tangram MIBs that extend this base.
