What Is WAYSTREAM-SMI?
WAYSTREAM-SMI defines the top-level Structure of Management Information (enterprise OID tree) for Waystream AB, a Swedish vendor of broadband access/DSLAM equipment, under which all Waystream product MIB modules register their object identifiers. As a pure SMI module it contains no operational data objects of its own - it exists solely to establish the naming hierarchy used by Waystream's functional MIBs. The WAYSTREAM-SMI MIB itself contains nothing to poll; its sole purpose is registering the enterprise number under which Waystream's functional modules are organized. It therefore has no direct role in exposing hardware or software status; that responsibility belongs to the vendor-specific MIBs that import from this tree. It depends only on base SNMPv2-SMI conventions for OBJECT IDENTIFIER assignment. It is deployed as a foundational module alongside Waystream's access/DSLAM product-specific MIBs.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in WAYSTREAM-SMI. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- Waystream AB ASR/access product line, entire range (base enterprise OID registration, no data objects)
Monitoring Examples
No sample_objects were provided and none are expected - this is a pure OID registration module with no runtime data of its own to poll; functional Waystream MIBs registered beneath it would carry the actual monitorable objects.
