What Is WAYSTREAM-IGMP-CACHE-MIB?
WAYSTREAM-IGMP-CACHE-MIB is a Waystream AB (Swedish access/aggregation router vendor, ASR product line) MIB for monitoring IGMP multicast group membership caching and snooping on their access/aggregation switches/routers. It exposes a cache table of active IGMP group memberships, each entry showing the multicast group address, the interface it was learned on, the reporting host, and how long the entry has been active. This is a runtime operational-status MIB used to monitor the software-level multicast forwarding state of the device -- specifically which multicast groups are currently active on which interfaces and for how long, useful for troubleshooting IPTV/multicast video delivery issues. It builds on the standard IGMP protocol and is conceptually analogous to the IETF IGMP-MIB's cache table, tailored to Waystream's ASR platform. Typical deployment is on Waystream ASR access/aggregation routers in broadband/IPTV service-provider networks where multicast video delivery is monitored, and administrators can download the WAYSTREAM-IGMP-CACHE-MIB file to load into their SNMP management tools.

Monitoring Examples
An operator would poll wsIgmpCacheTable (wsIgmpCacheEntry) to see active multicast memberships, checking wsIgmpCacheAddress for the group address, wsIgmpCacheIfIndex for the interface it was learned on, and wsIgmpCacheReporter for the reporting host's address. The wsIgmpCacheUpTime shows how long that membership has persisted; an entry that repeatedly disappears and reappears with a low wsIgmpCacheUpTime could indicate an IGMP join/leave flapping problem or a failing multicast video stream on that interface.
