vrptrMonTxCollisions

Module: VERTICAL-SNMP-REPEATER-MIB

OID (symbolic): VERTICAL-SNMP-REPEATER-MIB::vrptrMonTxCollisions

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.2338.4.2.4.1.1.1

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-only

Description: For a clause 9 (10Mb/s) repeater, this counter is incremented every time the repeater state machine enters the TRANSMIT COLLISION state from any state other than ONE PORT LEFT (Ref: Fig 9-2 [IEEE 802.3 Std]).

For a clause 27 repeater, this counter is incremented every time the repeater core state diagram enters the Jam state as a result of Activity(ALL) > 1 (fig 27-2 [IEEE 802.3 Std]).

The approximate minimum time for rollover of this counter is 16 hours in a 10Mb/s repeater and 1.6 hours in a 100Mb/s repeater.

What is vrptrMonTxCollisions?

A repeater-wide count of transmit-collision events (encoded as notSupported(-1)/supported(0) per this MIB's revised syntax): for a 10Mb/s repeater, entries into the TRANSMIT COLLISION state from any state other than ONE PORT LEFT; for a 100Mb/s repeater, entries into the Jam state due to simultaneous activity on more than one port. Rolls over in roughly 16 hours at 10Mb/s or 1.6 hours at 100Mb/s.
