vrptrMonTotalFrames

Module: VERTICAL-SNMP-REPEATER-MIB

OID (symbolic): VERTICAL-SNMP-REPEATER-MIB::vrptrMonTotalFrames

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.2338.4.2.4.1.1.3

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Counter

Access: read-only

Description: The number of frames of valid frame length that have been received on the ports in this repeater and for which the FCSError and CollisionEvent signals were not asserted. If an implementation can not obtain a count of frames as seen by the repeater itself, this counter may be implemented as the summation of the values of the rptrMonitorPortReadableFrames counters for all of the ports in the repeater.

This statistic provides one of the parameters necessary for obtaining the packet error rate. The approximate minimum time for rollover of this counter is 80 hours in a 10Mb/s repeater.

What is vrptrMonTotalFrames?

The total number of valid, error-free frames received across all ports on this repeater; if the hardware can't provide a true repeater-wide count, an implementation may derive it by summing each port's vrptrMonitorPortReadableFrames. This is the repeater-level rollup of frame throughput admins can poll instead of summing every port individually.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.2338.4.2.4.1.1.3
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> VERTICAL-SNMP-REPEATER-MIB::vrptrMonTotalFrames

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.2338.4.2.4.1.1.3.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> VERTICAL-SNMP-REPEATER-MIB::vrptrMonTotalFrames.1
