Description: Maximum Interleave Delay on Downstream direction. The maximum one-way interleaving delay introduced by the PMS-TC on Downstream direction. The xTUs shall choose the S (factor) and D (depth) values such that the actual one-way interleaving delay (Xdsl2ChStatusActDelay) is as close as possible to, but less than or equal to, xdsl2ChConfProfMaxDelayDs. The delay is coded in ms, with the value 0 indicating no delay bound is being imposed.

What is xdsl2ChConfProfMaxDelayDs?

Sets, in milliseconds (0-63, with 0 meaning no bound), the maximum one-way interleaving delay the PMS-TC framer may introduce on the downstream direction; the xTUs pick interleaver depth and factor to stay as close to, but not exceed, this bound. Operators set this low (a few ms) for latency-sensitive services and higher for pure data services that can trade latency for better error resilience via deeper interleaving.
