usdIsisSysL2CircAuthenticationPwd

Module: Unisphere-Data-ISIS-MIB

OID (symbolic): Unisphere-Data-ISIS-MIB::usdIsisSysL2CircAuthenticationPwd

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.4874.2.2.38.1.2.3.1.4

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: OCTET STRING

Access: read-write

Description: The value to be used as the Authentication Key in Level 2 Hello Packets whenever the value of usdIsisSysL2CircAuthenticationKeyType has a value of hmacMd5. A modification of usdIsisSysL2CircAuthenticationKeyType does not modify the usdIsisSysL2CircAuthenticationPwd value.

Reading this object always results in an OCTET STRING of length zero; authentication may not be bypassed by reading the MIB object.

What is usdIsisSysL2CircAuthenticationPwd?

Write-only key used as the authentication key in Level 2 Hello (IIH) packets when the key type is hmacMd5; reads always return an empty string so the key can't be recovered via SNMP. An admin sets this to a shared secret that prevents rogue routers from forming Level 2 adjacencies on this circuit.
