Category: CommWorks/3Com Access Equipment
Description: Manages SLIP serial-line interface configuration and statistics on CommWorks/3Com access equipment.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is USR-SLIP-MIB?
USR-SLIP-MIB is a CommWorks Corporation (a 3Com Company, U.S. Robotics heritage) proprietary MIB with four objects — a base offloading flag, a config-file name, a CFM save-status flag, and a start message — configuring SLIP (Serial Line IP) on a CommWorks remote-access platform. As a configuration/status MIB it lets an administrator confirm SLIP configuration save status on a CommWorks (3Com/U.S. Robotics) remote-access platform. It is deployed on CommWorks (3Com/U.S. Robotics) remote-access platforms (SLIP). Engineers can download the USR-SLIP-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in USR-SLIP-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- CommWorks (3Com/U.S. Robotics) remote-access platforms (SLIP)
Monitoring Examples
An administrator checks usrSLIPBaseCFMSaveStatus to confirm SLIP configuration was saved successfully on a CommWorks (3Com) remote-access platform.
What Can Be Monitored
- SLIP configuration save status
