tunnelIfAddressType

Module: TUNNEL-MIB

OID (symbolic): TUNNEL-MIB::tunnelIfAddressType

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.2.1.10.131.1.1.1.1.8

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: InetAddressType

Access: read-write

Description: The type of address in the corresponding tunnelIfLocalInetAddress and tunnelIfRemoteInetAddress objects.

What is tunnelIfAddressType?

This read-write value specifies the address type, IPv4 or IPv6, used by the tunnelIfLocalInetAddress and tunnelIfRemoteInetAddress objects for this tunnel interface. Admins set it to correctly indicate whether this tunnel's endpoint addresses are IPv4 or IPv6, which governs how the paired address objects are interpreted. For example, setting this to ipv6 tells management tools to interpret the accompanying local and remote address objects as IPv6 addresses rather than IPv4.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.2.1.10.131.1.1.1.1.8
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> TUNNEL-MIB::tunnelIfAddressType

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.2.1.10.131.1.1.1.1.8.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> TUNNEL-MIB::tunnelIfAddressType.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.2.1.10.131.1.1.1.1.8.1 s <value>

SNMPv3 example:

snmpget -v3 -l authPriv -u snmpv3-user -a SHA -A "AuthPassword1" -x AES -X "PrivPassword1" <target> tunnelIfAddressType.1
