Category: Firewall and Intrusion Prevention

Description: Manages TippingPoint IPS multi-device configuration, centralized control, and device group management.

Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.

What Is TPT-MULTIDV-MIB?

TPT-MULTIDV-MIB is a Trend Micro TippingPoint MIB covering Digital Vaccine (DV) signature package support on IPS appliances, including the ability to run multiple DV packages simultaneously. It exposes software/content-version data: the installed DV package version and activation state, plus auxiliary DV packages (type, name, version, package identifier). Its monitoring value is squarely a software-status check, letting administrators confirm the intrusion-detection signature set is current and active, which is critical since an outdated DV package means the IPS may not detect newer threats. It depends conceptually on the broader TippingPoint MIB family for device and engine context but stands alone as a signature-version reporting module. It is used in enterprise security operations where TippingPoint IPS appliances are polled to verify signature currency as part of vulnerability/patch compliance monitoring. Engineers can download the TPT-MULTIDV-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.

IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in TPT-MULTIDV-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.

Supported Devices

  • TippingPoint (Trend Micro) IPS appliance

Monitoring Examples

An admin would poll installedDVTable/installedDVEntry (installedDVVersion, installedDVIsActive) to confirm the currently active Digital Vaccine version matches the latest released signature set. The auxiliaryDVTable (auxiliaryDVType, auxiliaryDVName, auxiliaryDVVersion, auxiliaryDVPackage) would be checked for supplementary signature packages such as vulnerability filters or reputation feeds. An installedDVIsActive value of false or a stale installedDVVersion would flag that the appliance is running outdated threat signatures.

What Can Be Monitored

  • installed Digital Vaccine version
  • active/inactive signature package state
  • auxiliary DV package type and name
  • auxiliary DV package version
