tnIPSourceGuardIfMaxDynamicClients

Module: TN-IP-SOURCE-GUARD-MIB

OID (symbolic): TN-IP-SOURCE-GUARD-MIB::tnIPSourceGuardIfMaxDynamicClients

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.868.2.5.31.1.1.2.1.2

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: Specify the maximum number of dynamic clients that can be learned on given port. This value can be 0, 1, 2 or unlimited. If the port mode is enabled and the value of max dynamic client is equal to 0, it means only allow the IP packets forwarding that are matched in static entries on the specific port.

What is tnIPSourceGuardIfMaxDynamicClients?

tnIPSourceGuardIfMaxDynamicClients caps how many dynamically-learned client bindings IP Source Guard will allow on a given port, with named values zero, one, two, or unlimited (65535). An admin lowers this on ports where only a small, known number of hosts should ever connect, such as a single-workstation access port, to limit exposure if a rogue device tries to attach. For example, setting this to one(1) on a desk port ensures only the first DHCP-assigned client on that port is trusted, blocking additional spoofed or rogue clients from being learned.
