tnEntSensorThresholdSeverity

Module: TN-ENTITY-SENSOR-MIB

OID (symbolic): TN-ENTITY-SENSOR-MIB::tnEntSensorThresholdSeverity

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.868.2.5.6.1.2.1.1.2

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: TnSensorThresholdSeverity

Access: read-write

Description: This variable indicates the severity of this threshold.

What is tnEntSensorThresholdSeverity?

This TnSensorThresholdSeverity value sets the severity level assigned to a given sensor threshold, chosen from other(1), minor(10), major(20), or critical(30). Admins configure this to control how seriously an out-of-range sensor reading is treated, and a critical(30) severity can cause the system to automatically shut down the associated FRU. For example, setting a temperature threshold's severity to critical(30) means the device may power down that module rather than merely alert if the value is breached.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.868.2.5.6.1.2.1.1.2
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> TN-ENTITY-SENSOR-MIB::tnEntSensorThresholdSeverity

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.868.2.5.6.1.2.1.1.2.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> TN-ENTITY-SENSOR-MIB::tnEntSensorThresholdSeverity.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.868.2.5.6.1.2.1.1.2.1 s <value>

SNMPv3 example:

snmpget -v3 -l authPriv -u snmpv3-user -a SHA -A "AuthPassword1" -x AES -X "PrivPassword1" <target> tnEntSensorThresholdSeverity.1
