tnEntSensorThresholdRelation

Module: TN-ENTITY-SENSOR-MIB

OID (symbolic): TN-ENTITY-SENSOR-MIB::tnEntSensorThresholdRelation

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.868.2.5.6.1.2.1.1.3

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: TnSensorThresholdRelation

Access: read-write

Description: This variable indicates the relation between sensor value (entSensorValue) and threshold value (tnEntSensorThresholdValue), required to trigger the alarm. when evaluating the relation, entSensorValue is on the left of tnEntSensorThresholdRelation, tnEntSensorThresholdValue is on the right.

in pseudo-code, the evaluation-alarm mechanism is:

... if (entSensorStatus == ok) then if (evaluate(entSensorValue, tnEntSensorThresholdRelation, tnEntSensorThresholdValue)) then if (tnEntSensorThresholdNotificationEnable == true)) then raise_alarm(sensor's entPhysicalIndex); endif endif endif ...

What is tnEntSensorThresholdRelation?

This TnSensorThresholdRelation value defines the relational operator, such as lessThan, greaterThan, or equalTo, used to compare the live sensor reading against the configured tnEntSensorThresholdValue when deciding whether to alarm. An admin sets this to match the physical meaning of the sensor, since a temperature threshold typically needs greaterThan(3) while a voltage-drop threshold might need lessThan(1). For example, setting this to greaterThan(3) with a threshold value of 70 evaluates true whenever the sensor value exceeds 70.
