tnEntSensorThreshNotifGlobalEnable

Module: TN-ENTITY-SENSOR-MIB

OID (symbolic): TN-ENTITY-SENSOR-MIB::tnEntSensorThreshNotifGlobalEnable

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.868.2.5.6.1.3.1

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: TruthValue

Access: read-write

Description: This variable enables the generation of tnEntSensorThresholdNotification globally on the device. If this object value is 'false', then no tnEntSensorThresholdNotification will be generated on this device. If this object value is 'true', then whether a tnEntSensorThresholdNotification for a threshold will be generated or not depends on the instance value of tnEntSensorThresholdNotificationEnable for that threshold.

What is tnEntSensorThreshNotifGlobalEnable?

This TruthValue is a device-wide master switch for tnEntSensorThresholdNotification traps, sitting above the per-threshold tnEntSensorThresholdNotificationEnable setting. When set to false, no threshold notifications are sent from the device at all regardless of individual threshold settings; when true, the per-threshold settings take over. For example, an admin might flip this to false during planned maintenance to silence all sensor-threshold traps device-wide, then re-enable it afterward.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.868.2.5.6.1.3.1
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> TN-ENTITY-SENSOR-MIB::tnEntSensorThreshNotifGlobalEnable

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.868.2.5.6.1.3.1.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> TN-ENTITY-SENSOR-MIB::tnEntSensorThreshNotifGlobalEnable.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.868.2.5.6.1.3.1.1 s <value>
