tnDhcpRelayConfigGlobalsInformationPolicy

Module: TN-DHCP-RELAY-MIB

OID (symbolic): TN-DHCP-RELAY-MIB::tnDhcpRelayConfigGlobalsInformationPolicy

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.868.2.5.148.1.2.1.4

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: TNDhcpRelayInformationPolicyType

Access: read-write

Description: Indicates the DHCP relay information option policy. When DHCP relay information mode operation is enabled, if the agent receives a DHCP message that already contains relay agent information it will enforce the policy. The 'Replace' policy is invalid when relay information mode is disabled.

What is tnDhcpRelayConfigGlobalsInformationPolicy?

This read-write value selects how the relay handles a DHCP message that already carries relay agent information: replace(0), keep(1), or drop(2); per its description, 'replace' is invalid when information mode is disabled. An admin sets 'replace' in networks with untrusted downstream relays to overwrite existing option 82 data with this device's own trusted values.
