tnDhcpRelayConfigGlobalsInformationMode

Module: TN-DHCP-RELAY-MIB

OID (symbolic): TN-DHCP-RELAY-MIB::tnDhcpRelayConfigGlobalsInformationMode

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.868.2.5.148.1.2.1.3

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: TruthValue

Access: read-write

Description: Indicates the DHCP relay information mode option operation. Possible modes are - Enabled: Enable DHCP relay information mode operation. When DHCP relay information mode operation is enabled, the agent inserts specific information (option 82) into a DHCP message when forwarding to DHCP server and removes it from a DHCP message when transferring to DHCP client. It only works when DHCP relay operation mode is enabled. Disabled: Disable DHCP relay information mode operation.

What is tnDhcpRelayConfigGlobalsInformationMode?

This read-write boolean enables or disables DHCP relay agent information (option 82) insertion; when enabled, the device inserts option 82 into DHCP messages forwarded to the server and strips it going back to the client, but only while relay itself is also enabled. An admin turns this on when the DHCP server needs option 82 data (like circuit/remote ID) to make address-assignment decisions.
