Module: TN-DEV-SYS-IP2-MIB

OID (symbolic): TN-DEV-SYS-IP2-MIB::tnIp2IntDHCPEnable

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.868.2.5.10.8.3.1.2

Access: read-create

Description: Enable the DHCP client. If this option is enabled, the system will configure the IPv4 address and mask of the interface using the DHCP protocol. The DHCP client will announce the configured System Name as hostname to provide DNS lookup.

What is tnIp2IntDHCPEnable?

This read-create enumeration turns on the DHCP client for this IP interface, causing the device to obtain its IPv4 address and mask automatically via DHCP. An admin enables this on interfaces that should self-configure from an upstream DHCP server, and the switch will announce its configured system name as the DHCP hostname to support DNS lookups of the device. Setting tnIp2IntDHCPEnable to true(1) on a management VLAN interface means the switch relies on the network's DHCP server instead of the static tnIp2Addr/tnIp2MaskLen values.
