tmnxDot3OamInterval

Module: TIMETRA-DOT3-OAM-MIB

OID (symbolic): TIMETRA-DOT3-OAM-MIB::tmnxDot3OamInterval

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.6527.3.1.2.42.1.1.1.2

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: Unsigned32

Access: read-write

Description: The value of tmnxDot3OamInterval specifies the number of 100ms time intervals between each periodic OAMPDU transmit and receive. A lower value implies that OAMPDUs will be transmitted more frequently to the peer, and OAMPDUs must be received more frequently from the peer. The default is set to 10, meaning 1 second between transmits and receives.

What is tmnxDot3OamInterval?

This object specifies the number of 100ms intervals between periodic 802.3ah OAMPDU transmissions and expected receptions on this interface, with a default of 10 meaning one second between exchanges; a lower value makes OAMPDUs more frequent in both directions. Admins tune it to make link-fault detection faster or slower depending on how sensitive they want the OAM session to be. Setting tmnxDot3OamInterval to 5 would send and expect OAMPDUs every half second instead of the default one second, detecting faults more quickly.
