This value is the connection's source IP address expressed in global format, i.e. as it appears to hosts on the external (global) side of the NAT. Admins use it to see the public-facing address that an internal client's traffic was translated to. For example, it might read 203.0.113.5 as the externally visible source of an outbound session.
