Timing admins use this to see the quality rank of the clock reference this port is currently receiving, which feeds into the system's reference selection for network synchronization. A PQL value of 2 might indicate this input is receiving a PRC-quality reference, ranking it higher priority than a port reporting a lower-quality PQL of 8.
