Description: If the protocol type is protocol-userDefined(16), this value will fill with the encap type. For other protocol types, this value will be ignored. The group encap type includes ethernet(1), llc(2), snap(3),and all(4).
What is swProtocolVLANencap?
This object specifies the Ethernet frame encapsulation type, ethernet, llc, snap, or all, used to match frames for this protocol VLAN. Like swProtocolVLANUserDefinedProtocol, it only applies when the VLAN's protocol type is set to protocol-userDefined(16), letting an admin further narrow which framing style qualifies traffic for the custom protocol rule; it's ignored for the predefined protocol types. An admin whose legacy devices send the custom protocol only inside LLC-encapsulated frames would set this object to llc(2) rather than leaving it at the broader all(4) setting.
