Module: SWITCH-TRUNK-MIB

OID (symbolic): SWITCH-TRUNK-MIB::rcTrunkLoadingSharingMode

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.8886.6.1.6.2

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: The Rule to be applied to this Link Aggregator's Trunk Group Table. The rules are based on the following selections SrcMAC (1), means that the last three bits of the Source MAC Address are used to index the Trunk Group to get the destination port. DestMAC (2), means the last three bits of the Destination MAC Address are used to index into the Trunk Group to get the destination port. SrcXORDestMAC (3), means that the last three bits of the Source MAC Address are logically XORed with the last three bits of the Destination MAC Address and used to index into the Trunk Group to get the destination port. SrcIP (4), means the last three bits of the Source IP Address are used to index into the Trunk Group to get the destination port. DestIP (5), means the last three bits of the Destination IP Address are used to index into the Trunk Group to get the destination port. SrcXORDestIP (6), means the last three bits of the Source IP Address are logically XORed with the last three bits of the Destination IP Address and used to index into the Trunk Group to get the destination port. This rule defines the distribution algorithm applied to the aggregated link.

What is rcTrunkLoadingSharingMode?

This read-write value selects the load-distribution algorithm, such as srcMAC, destMAC, srcXORDestMAC, srcIP, destIP, or srcXORDestIP, used to hash traffic across the ports of a link aggregation trunk group. It determines how evenly and predictably traffic spreads across aggregated links based on which header fields the switch examines. An admin aggregating uplinks toward a router with many different source hosts behind it might choose srcIP so traffic balances by originating host address rather than collapsing onto one link.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.8886.6.1.6.2
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> SWITCH-TRUNK-MIB::rcTrunkLoadingSharingMode

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.8886.6.1.6.2.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> SWITCH-TRUNK-MIB::rcTrunkLoadingSharingMode.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.8886.6.1.6.2.1 i <value>
