What Is SPIDCOM-NOTIFICATION-MIB?
SPIDCOM-NOTIFICATION-MIB is a vendor-specific MIB from SPiDCOM Technologies, a manufacturer of HomePlug/powerline communication (PLC) chipsets and networking devices, dedicated purely to defining SNMP notification (trap) objects for its powerline products. Because it is a notifications-only module, it does not expose polled counters or configuration tables but instead defines the structure of asynchronous event traps a SPiDCOM-based device would send when its state changes. In a monitoring context it would be used to alert on hardware/software events such as link establishment/loss, network membership changes, or device resets on the powerline adapter, rather than to periodically poll status values. As a notification module it likely depends on the SNMPv2 conformance framework (SNMPv2-TC/SNMPv2-CONF) for its trap definitions and possibly on a companion SPiDCOM MIB defining the underlying managed objects. It would be deployed alongside SPiDCOM powerline network adapters/modems in home or small-office networking installations to provide event-driven fault notification.
