What Is SONUS-TRUNK-GROUP-RESOURCES-MIB?

SONUS-TRUNK-GROUP-RESOURCES-MIB is a vendor-specific MIB from Sonus Networks covering trunk group resource configuration and capacity on its softswitch platforms, where a trunk group represents a logical bundle of circuits/channels to a carrier or peer. It exposes system-wide maximums (max RPC/LPCs, CICs, trunk groups, service groups, service-group instances) and a per-trunk-group table with name, profile, and service-group selection. Its monitoring value is largely capacity/configuration status rather than raw hardware faults: tracking how close the live trunk group count is to sonusTgMaxTrunkGroups or sonusTgMaxCics reveals whether the platform is nearing a provisioning ceiling that would block new trunk creation or call routing. It works together with the call-signaling and accounting MIBs (SIP/H.323, accounting services) under the shared Sonus enterprise tree, since trunk groups are the resource pool those protocols route calls through.
