snOsmFaultValue

Module: SN-OSM-PRIV-MIB

OID (symbolic): SN-OSM-PRIV-MIB::snOsmFaultValue

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.4196.1.1.2.100.2.1.4

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: OCTET STRING

Access: read-write

Description: Fault value: 0 = no fault, bit 0 = power, bit 1 = linkdown, bit 2 = internal error, bit 3 = standby, bit 4 = rm, bit 5 = dip switch rm, bit 6 = dip switch standby, bit 7 = ncm, bit 8 = partition port 1, ... bit 15 = partition port 8, bit 16 = observer error, bit 17 = non-recoverable ring error, bit 18 = reset to factory defaults

What is snOsmFaultValue?

This bitmask encodes exactly which fault condition is active, with individual bits representing power loss, link-down, internal error, standby failure, redundancy-manager issues, DIP-switch faults, port partitioning on ports 1 through 8, observer errors, ring errors, or a factory-reset event; reading it lets an admin pinpoint the specific cause behind snOsmFaultState.

Examples

Walk all instances (SNMPv2c):

snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.4196.1.1.2.100.2.1.4
snmpwalk -v2c -c public <target> SN-OSM-PRIV-MIB::snOsmFaultValue

Get a specific instance (index 1):

snmpget -v2c -c public <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.4196.1.1.2.100.2.1.4.1
snmpget -v2c -c public <target> SN-OSM-PRIV-MIB::snOsmFaultValue.1

Set instance 1 (SNMPv2c):

snmpset -v2c -c private <target> 1.3.6.1.4.1.4196.1.1.2.100.2.1.4.1 s <value>

SNMPv3 example:

snmpget -v3 -l authPriv -u snmpv3-user -a SHA -A "AuthPassword1" -x AES -X "PrivPassword1" <target> snOsmFaultValue.1
