slPortConfigChangeType

Module: SL-PORT-MIB

OID (symbolic): SL-PORT-MIB::slPortConfigChangeType

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.4515.1.3.14.1.1.1.4

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: This object is used to change the type of the port. The type value is one of the IANA types. Changing port type should remove all the information related to this port. Such as, ifTable entry, PM info, GFP and VCG entries, current alarms, ...

What is slPortConfigChangeType?

This read-write INTEGER lets an admin change the IANA interface type assigned to a port, and doing so wipes related state such as the ifTable entry, performance-monitoring data, GFP/VCG entries, and current alarms for that port. Because changing this value effectively reprovisions the port as a different interface type, an admin must treat writing to it as a disruptive operation rather than a routine tweak. For example, an admin repurposing a slot from one transport encapsulation to another would set this object to the new IANA ifType value, understanding that the port's prior alarm and PM history will be cleared as a result.
