slOSWPortConfigLosThreshold

Module: SL-OSW-MIB

OID (symbolic): SL-OSW-MIB::slOSWPortConfigLosThreshold

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.4515.1.1.17.1.1.1.3

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: INTEGER

Access: read-write

Description: Configured threshold value for LOS detection of the optical switch port. The value given in 0.1 dBm units. The range starts with -50.0 dBm.

What is slOSWPortConfigLosThreshold?

This read-write value sets, in units of 0.1 dBm starting from -50.0 dBm, the input power level below which the optical switch port should declare a loss-of-signal condition. Technicians tune it to match the expected minimum receive power for the fiber run and optics in use, balancing sensitivity to real signal loss against false alarms from normal power fluctuation. Setting this object to 200 (representing -30.0 dBm) would mean the port only flags LOS if incoming light drops below that level.
