esconPortConfigStatus
Module: SL-ESCON-MIB
OID (symbolic): SL-ESCON-MIB::esconPortConfigStatus
OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.4515.1.1.5.1.1.1.1.7
Node type: OBJECT-TYPE
Type: INTEGER
Access: read-only
Description: This variable indicates the Line Status of the ESCON interface.
The esconPortStatus is a bit map represented as a sum, therefore, it can represent multiple failures (alarms) simultaneously.
esconPortNoAlarm must be set if and only if no other flag is set.
The various bit positions are: 1 esconPortNoAlarm No alarm present 2 esconPortTransmitFault Transceiver transmit fault 4 esconPortLossOfSignal Transceiver signal detect failed 8 esconPortNoLink No link established yet.
What is esconPortConfigStatus?
A bitmap alarm code for the ESCON interface, summed from: 1 = no alarm, 2 = transmitter transmit fault, 4 = loss of signal detected, and 8 = no link established yet. For example, an admin seeing a value of 6 immediately knows both a transmit fault and a loss-of-signal condition are present at the same time, rather than having to poll two separate objects.
