Description: Manages SIAE MICROELETTRONICA IEEE 1588 Precision Time Protocol synchronization configuration and status.
Start monitoring vendor-neutral, standards-based MIB, any SNMPv3-capable network device (SNMP engine identity/boot/clock status) with a free 30-day trial of IPNetwork Monitor. Import MIBs, browse SNMP OIDs, create custom SNMP monitors, configure alerts, and monitor any SNMP-enabled network device from a single console.
What Is SIAE-PTP-MIB?
SIAE-PTP-MIB is a vendor MIB from SIAE Microelettronica for managing IEEE 1588 Precision Time Protocol (PTP) synchronization on its telecom transport/microwave radio equipment. It exposes configuration for PTP clock instances/ports (per the ITU-T G.8275.1 telecom profile) and status data reflecting synchronization state. Its principal monitoring value is software/protocol status: PTP clock lock/sync state, offset, and port state, indicating whether the device's timing subsystem is correctly phase/time-synchronized to the network. It explicitly depends on IEEE 1588-2008 and ITU-T G.8275.1/Y.1369.1 as normative references for its PTP object semantics. It is typically deployed on SIAE microwave/transport network elements in mobile backhaul networks requiring precise phase/time synchronization. Engineers can download the SIAE-PTP-MIB file directly to load it into their MIB browser.
IPNetwork Monitor allows you to monitor SNMP objects defined in SIAE-PTP-MIB. Use the built-in SNMP Monitoring Browser to explore available variables, view their current values and descriptions, and select the objects you want to monitor. You can then create SNMP monitors, configure thresholds, and receive alerts when monitored values change.
Supported Devices
- SIAE Microelettronica microwave/transport network element
Monitoring Examples
Since sample_objects is empty for this MIB, no concrete SIAE-PTP-MIB object names are available to ground a specific polling example, though based on the module description an operator would generally be expected to poll PTP clock/port status objects to confirm synchronization lock to the network master clock.
What Can Be Monitored
- PTP synchronization/lock state
- PTP clock and port configuration
