Module: SALIX-DS1-MIB

OID (symbolic): SALIX-DS1-MIB::salixDsx1AutoInitiateState

OID (numeric): 1.3.6.1.4.1.2158.2.7.1.1.1.3

Node type: OBJECT-TYPE

Type: TruthValue

Access: read-write

Description: An indication of whether the D channel data link control (layer 2) should be initiated automatically during DS1 initialization or brought up on demand. This attribute is only relevant if salixDsx1DChannelPresent is 'true'.

What is salixDsx1AutoInitiateState?

This read-write boolean indicates whether the D-channel's layer-2 data link control should come up automatically during DS1 initialization rather than on demand, defaulting to false, and only matters when salixDsx1DChannelPresent is true. Admins enable it when they want the ISDN D-channel link to establish immediately at DS1 bring-up instead of waiting for the first call setup. For example, setting salixDsx1AutoInitiateState to true on a DS1 with a D-channel makes layer 2 come up as soon as the DS1 initializes rather than waiting for demand.
