Description: Setting ICMP rate-limit defines the number of ICMP packets that can be processed per second. Limitation of this number prevents denial-of-service attacks. Setting the value to 0 allows unlimited incoming ICMP messages. The default value has been changed from 10 to 0 in 5.5.9 and newer releases.
What is saCmIcmpRateLimit?
Caps how many ICMP packets per second the modem will process (0-255, default 0 meaning unlimited as of release 5.5.9 and later, down from a prior default of 10); an operator lowers this to blunt ICMP-flood denial-of-service attempts against the modem.
