What is s5TrStaCtlNodeVersion?
This reports the station's software version string, per IEEE 802.5 section 3.3.2.17, empty if unavailable; for IBM products the MIB's own description specifies octets 0-4 as Feature Code and 5-9 as EC level, encoded in EBCDIC, while others use ASCII. An admin reads this to check firmware/software versions on ring adapters during a compatibility or bug investigation.
