Description: The total number of packets received that were longer than 1518 octets (excluding framing bits, but including FCS octets) and were otherwise well formed.
What is etherStatsOversizePkts?
This counter tracks the total number of Ethernet frames that exceed the standard maximum size of 1518 octets and are otherwise properly formatted. Network monitoring equipment increments this counter each time it observes such a packet on the monitored interface. An operator monitors this metric to detect oversized packets that may indicate protocol violations or unusual network activity.
