This reports the current length of the link-state retransmission queue for this virtual neighbor, i.e. how many LSAs sent to it are still awaiting acknowledgment. A persistently nonzero or growing queue suggests the virtual neighbor isn't acknowledging updates promptly, pointing admins toward investigating the transit-area path's reliability.
